"A Teagle Forum on the Classics and Popular Culture was held at Northwestern [on March 3, 2006] organized by Sara Monoson and Reg Gibbons, with participation by faculty from several colleges and universities in the region. The principal speakers, Danielle Allen and Daniel Mendelsohn, and the respondent, Kirk Ormand, of Oberlin College , made a powerful case that this is a crucial and promising moment for classics. We need to take full advantage of it." APA Newsletter (April 2006)
